2025 BWF BioInterfaces Rising Star Awardee

Congratulations to Ana Salazar-Puerta, PhD, for winning the 2025 BWF BioInterfaces Rising Star Award!

Dr. Ana Salazar-Puerta completed her postdoctoral fellowship in Biomedical Engineering at The Ohio State University, where she developed micro and nanotechnology platforms for gene delivery and in vivo lineage reprogramming to enhance nerve regeneration while preserving the function of end-organs. Dr. Salazar-Puerta recently began her appointment as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at The Ohio State University, where her laboratory focuses on engineered extracellular vesicles and reprogramming-based gene therapies, integrated with Biomaterials for tissue repair, peripheral nerve regeneration, muscle innervation, and fibrosis.
