COVID-19 Update
As of July 29th, 2021
We continue to closely monitor the coronavirus outbreak as the health, safety and well-being of the SFB and JSB community is our highest priority. SFB and JSB will continue to actively assess the situation and distribute further information and updates from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and World Health Organization.
We are tracking all travel restrictions issued, and will follow the advice of the World Health Organization, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Hawaii State Department of Health. SFB will issue periodic updates as they become available.
Pre-Meeting Guidance
Travel
- Attendees should closely review all current requirements needed for travel to the Hawaiian Islands from your place of origin.
- State of Hawai‘i Safe Travels Hawai‘i Program
- Attendees are encouraged to monitor the CDC website for additional information, and review and follow the WHO’s Travel Advice.
- Attendees should check their individual airlines for specific cancellation / refund policies.
- Hilton Waikiki Beach CleanStay commitment.
- All attendees should check themselves for symptoms before starting travel.
CANCELLATION / REFUND POLICY:
Podium Presenters and Invited Speakers:
To cancel your registration and receive a refund, a written request must be received by December 1, 2021. Cancellations can be made by contacting the Society For Biomaterials Headquarters at info@biomaterials.org. Cancellation requests received by this date will receive a refund (less a $50 processing fee). Requests will be processed upon notification.
General Attendees:
To cancel your registration and receive a refund, a written request must be received by December 23, 2021. Cancellations can be made by contacting the Society For Biomaterials Headquarters at info@biomaterials.org. Cancellation requests received by this date will receive a refund (less a $50 processing fee). Requests will be processed upon notification.
All requests received after December 23, 2021, will forfeit 100 percent of monies paid.
The Society has contracted with the Hilton Waikiki Beach to provide our attendees with accommodations from Friday, January 7 to Monday, January 10, 2022.
A reduced conference rate of $229 per night is available to conference attendees until December 17, 2021. The sleeping room rate are subject to applicable taxes, currently 14.96%.
